The Manager supervises the daily operations of the internal machining department, ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality and safety standards, as well as resource management. This position involves production planning and the implementation of processes to meet the department's objectives. Furthermore, the role includes responsibility for the Apprentice Center, with direct responsibility for the entire X program - 100% rate. Qualifications for the Machining Department Manager include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, confirmed experience in team management, solid knowledge of various equipment, leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively mentor a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, PowerPoint) is required, as well as a very good knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC preferred). Knowledge of SAP is a major asset. The ability to unite and motivate cross-functional teams, both direct and indirect, is essential. Excellent skills in attention to detail and a strong problem-solving capacity are required. Language skills: French and English, with another language being an advantage. Ensure a high level of quality by minimizing non-conformance rates. Guarantee the proper implementation of the 4-year apprenticeship program to ensure optimal and efficient use of hours and the timely attainment of the CFC Polymechanics certificate. Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor performance and make necessary adjustments. Support teams on new processes and opportunities, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for the main department processes.
