Legal CounselJob DescriptionThe Legal Support Unit of the Directorate General for Children and Youth (DGEJ), composed of 8 people, is looking for a legal counsel for a six-month replacement.Responsibilities- Ensure the drafting of decisions as well as the drafting of judicial procedural acts in connection with the service's activities;- Provide legal support and advice to the service in their areas of activity (protection, prevention, supervision, adoption);- Contribute to the development of a legal reference base and follow the evolution of doctrine and jurisprudence in order to guarantee the coherence of the legal options taken by the management;- Ensure occasional physical presence in the various sectors of the service, particularly during professional colloquia, in order to provide an exchange and a legal perspective on the files processed;- Contribute to the drafting of draft laws and legal texts as well as responses to cantonal and federal inquiries and parliamentary interventions;- Participate in the activities of the service's measures unit, in the context of child protection measures according to the Hague Convention and cases of child abduction according to the Hague Convention;- Analyze the content of extract 2 of the criminal records of the management and staff of institutions with accommodation, staff of camps of more than 7 days, foster families, and adoptive parents during annual checks and before hiring in accordance with the ordinance on the placement of children.For more information, please consult the job description by clicking here.In addition, we invite you to visit our DGEJ website where you can also discover our different missions in detail.Profile- University degree in law required;- Bar exam or a degree in family law or administrative law as well as professional experience in judicial procedures or in the field of child protection of at least X years;- Knowledge of the German language, an asset;- Spirit of mutual aid and teamwork;- Analytical and synthesis skills;- Great writing skills;- Good command of office tools.A check of any criminal record is required for this position.Who are we?The Directorate General for Children and Youth (DGEJ) of the Canton of Vaud is in charge of the protection of minors in danger in their development, the integration of young people into social and political life, and prevention from early childhood to adulthood.
