Job DescriptionThe Directorate of Veterinary Affairs (DAVI) of the DGAV is the cantonal authority responsible for federal and Vaud veterinary matters. Its Animal Health sector is in charge of ensuring the monitoring of animal health across the entire cantonal territory, coordinating programs for fighting and monitoring against epidemics, and overseeing animal traceability. In this context, the sector is recruiting an official veterinarian to provide a replacement within its team.Responsibilities- Implement sanitary measures ordered in the fight against epidemics.- Participate in epidemiological inquiries and field investigations during outbreaks.- Ensure compliance with measures related to restrictions and carry out on-site inspections.- Handle procedures pertaining to animal health and draft decisions, reports, and correspondence.- Prepare and manage files related to penalties or legal actions until their closure.- Collaborate with judicial authorities and assist in the handling of cases assigned to veterinarians while maintaining contacts with other professionals and network partners.- Contribute to the development of guidelines and procedures, and participate in cantonal and federal working groups in the veterinary field.You will find further details in the job description by clicking here. Requirements- University degree in veterinary medicine required; ability to obtain the title of official veterinarian upon hiring.- Minimum 2 years of experience in private veterinary practice, animal health or industry, and 5 years of experience in a public veterinary service (cantonal and/or federal).- Driver's license and private vehicle available for professional travel.- Excellent command of spoken and written French, as well as good knowledge of spoken and written German necessary.- Proficiency in standard office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).- Rigor, sense of organization, and efficient management of priorities, with flexible working hours and good stress resistance.- Strong sense of public service, client relations, and ease with professional contacts and the general public.- Open-mindedness and strong professional commitment.- Good physical condition and ability to meet varied field requirements.WHO ARE WE?The General Directorate of Agriculture, Viticulture, and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) is one of the entities of the Department of Agriculture, Sustainability, and Digital Affairs (DADN).
