The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents is tasked with providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and addressing the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 18 years of age.
For many years, the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents has continuously developed cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in several medical specialties.
The DFEA has three emergency structures (gynaecological, obstetrical and paediatric) open 24/7 and a comprehensive system of hospital and outpatient care spread across 9 medical services, with an operating budget of 250 million francs and an investment budget of 5 million francs (excluding real estate projects in which the department is involved).

With more than 4,200 births per year, it is the largest maternity hospital in French-speaking Switzerland. A national and international reference, it combines medical expertise, personalised support and a multidisciplinary approach centred on the health of women, newborns and families.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities, the Maternity offers a wide range of services: monitoring of physiological and high-risk pregnancies, natural birth room, management of labour and delivery, postpartum care, neonatal and intensive care units, as well as a unique perinatal centre in Switzerland.
Your sense of responsibility and excellent organisational skills enable you to provide personalised and comprehensive care autonomously and/or under medical delegation in situations with varying levels of complexity, ensuring quality and continuity of care. You demonstrate responsiveness and good stress management.
You work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create a genuine partnership with patients, supported by their relatives.
You manage the physiological monitoring and support of patients throughout their perinatal journey, with autonomy and responsibility.
You lead and support childbirth and parenting preparation sessions, encouraging listening and exchange.
You are a dynamic, motivated and attentive person, ready to commit to an institution whose values you share.
Qualifications
You hold a HES Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or an equivalent recognised by the Red Cross.
You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva.
You possess excellent organisational and priority management skills, demonstrating responsiveness and stress management in emergency situations.
Thanks to your excellent interpersonal skills, you show listening and empathy to support patients and their relatives, including in conflict management cases.
Autonomous and open to change, you are able to self-reflect.
You wish to contribute your technical skills combined with your human qualities to the service.
Your communication skills and sense of human support are essential.
