IMAD is a pioneering and leading institution in home care in the canton of Geneva. It provides care, support, prevention, and health promotion services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, to over 18,000 patients of all ages, 25% of whom are under 65 years old.
UATR Nurse (Temporary Respite Care Units) / 80% / Permanent Contract
To provide caregivers with respite time, the UATR offers short stays to clients of AVS age and ensures services that continue those provided at home. The care and support of clients are adapted to their physical and mental health status.
The nurse works interdisciplinarily at the Mervelet site (Petit-Saconnex), respecting the mission and objectives of the institution and may occasionally be required to work at the Villereuse and Jumelles sites.
As the UATR is a 24/7 service throughout the year, working hours are in 3x8 hour shifts.
Your missions and responsibilities
- Provide personalised nursing care autonomously and/or under medical delegation, of a preventive, curative, educational, and palliative nature to clients of AVS age
- Act as a daily situation referent to adjust client care according to their needs, acting in accordance with the principles of the professional nursing code of ethics
- Organise medico-social procedures, coordination, and collaboration with all stakeholders involved in a client’s situation, mobilising all available resources (both primary network and professional)
- Work closely with ASSC and nursing assistants by delegating care within their competence areas
- Ensure written and oral transmission of information related to accompanied clients to enable follow-up and continuity of care
- Participate in training and research activities within the framework of objectives defined by the professional practices management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent qualification, with authorisation to practice in the canton
- Minimum two years of professional experience in the geriatric field
- Knowledge of the Geneva care network
- Experience in psycho-geriatric care is desirable
- Aptitude for autonomous work as well as interdisciplinary teamwork
- Excellent adaptability and delegation skills
- Sense of responsibility and solution orientation.
