The Vaudois Family Mutual Aid is a recognised umbrella association of public utility. It works daily to strengthen social bonds and support mutual aid activities in the canton. Through its 27 member associations, it offers more than 150 services, covering all stages of life. To support its development, it is advertising the position of:
Director at 50%
Main mission
Under the authority of the management committee, the Director ensures the overall management of the association. She/he guarantees the smooth running of family mutual aid activities, the development of the partner network, the coordination of human resources (volunteers and/or employees), as well as administrative and financial management.
Main activities
Strategic and operational management: implement the association's strategy in connection with the management committee. Plan, coordinate and evaluate mutual aid activities (support for associations, listening, guidance, administrative and logistical assistance). Develop new projects according to field needs.
Human management: recruit and supervise volunteers and/or employees. Promote a climate of collaboration, listening and respect. Organise regular team meetings and training days.
Administration and finance: ensure daily administrative management. Prepare and monitor the budget. Compile grant application files, maintain links with funders. Prepare activity reports for the management committee and the General Assembly.
Communication and partnerships: represent the association to institutions, partners and the media. Develop the association's network at local and cantonal levels. Ensure the visibility of actions through communication tools (website, social networks, events…).
Profile sought
Education and experience
- Higher education in social work, health, association management, management or equivalent
- Proven experience in a management or coordination position in the social or associative sector
Skills
- Project management skills, participative leadership
- Proficiency in office and administrative tools, good writing skills
- Knowledge of the Vaudois social fabric and associative functioning
- Ability to work with diverse audiences (authorities, associations, volunteers, employees, institutions)
Personal qualities
- Sense of responsibility, autonomy, reliability
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Commitment to the values of mutual aid and volunteering
Employment conditions
Contract type: permanent contract at a rate of 50% (salary according to the Vaud State scale).
Workplace: Lausanne, with travel within the canton (driving licence preferred)
Start date: 1 March 2027 with a period of handover of responsibilities and ongoing projects alongside the current Director.
