The Federalism Institute (IFF) is a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in the fields of multi-level governance, democracy, the rule of law and human rights. The International Research and Consulting Centre (IRCC) of the Institute aims to contribute to the peaceful coexistence of peoples, respect for and promotion of human rights, democracy, good governance and development through research, teaching, capacity building and consulting.

Your tasks
  • Lead international consulting projects, individually or as part of a team
  • Manage training and capacity building activities, independently or as part of a team
  • Manage and coordinate internal and international activities, including budget planning and reporting
  • Support and develop outreach and communication activities
  • Contribute to consolidating and expanding the IRCC’s global network
  • Support the IRCC’s research agenda in federalism, decentralisation, local administrations, human rights and minorities, democratisation and constitution-making, particularly (but not exclusively) focused on the Global South

 

This is a 4-year contract (with the possibility of extension depending on available funding)

Desired profile
  • A doctorate in law, political science, economics or a related field
  • Research experience in the IRCC’s areas of interest, especially comparative federalism
  • Relevant experience in international consulting, training and capacity building
  • Significant experience in managing international projects
  • Considerable experience in research and research fundraising
  • Willingness to travel in Europe and worldwide
  • Excellent command of English and very good command of German or French
