Thermal EngineerThe Thermal Unit's mission is to guarantee SIG customers a quality supply of thermal energy, while ensuring continuity in a secure environment. In this context, the operations and thermal manager participates in the operation and maintenance of thermal facilities (production, networks, and energy) at the service of a sustainable Geneva.You wish to participate in the operation and maintenance of industrial thermal facilities, you are passionate about the fields of energy and the energy transition, we propose that you join our unit, which is looking for a Thermal Engineer.You will be in charge of:Ensuring the proper functioning of thermal facilities (heat and cold production and distribution):- Monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance of sites;- Planning interventions and maintenance schedules;- Managing the studies and work necessary for the sustainability of facilities;- Monitoring yields and the share of renewables;- Hydraulic balancing and adjustment of facility parameters;- Monitoring energy and financial data for each site;- Guaranteeing customer satisfaction;- Assisting technicians in the 24/7 troubleshooting of facilities.Regarding tasks related to the management and supervision of a team of approximately 20 people:- You ensure the monitoring of the team's work but also of internal and external service providers;- Carrying out the monitoring of commissioning and acceptance of new facilities as well as the technical document management of facilities;- Managing the metering part, and monitoring the consumption of our customers.In connection with the safety of people and facilities, you draft operating procedures and health and safety plans.You possess a real sense of customer contact, have good interpersonal skills, and are capable of working independently. This position requires obtaining the federal diploma of thermal engineer in order to have all the knowledge necessary to carry out all tasks effectively and safely.Your personality and your skills:The Thermal Engineer must possess solid technical skills in one of the technical fields useful for the unit's work (electricity, mechanics, thermal, etc.). They bring their experience to the existing team in order to very quickly strengthen the team of engineers in their field of expertise. Through an open mind and great learning capacities, they develop new knowledge in order to obtain the versatility necessary to carry out their work. Team spirit and integration into the unit are paramount. The engineer must have ease both in transmitting the necessary information to colleagues but also in their contacts with customers and/or suppliers.This position eventually includes (after about 1 year) an on-call service that requires strong availability. The incumbent must live less than half an hour from the Lignon site, be able to be on call approximately once a month for a week, and have good stress management during emergency situations.A day in the life of an engineer includes a portion of work on construction sites and/or facilities in the field. They are therefore required to intervene for work at heights and in confined spaces. Their health must allow them to cope with this, as well as to endure dusty, very cold, or very hot places.Academic background:- HES (ETS) Engineer in a technical field (mechanics, thermal, electricity, etc.), with 2-3 years of professional experience;- Good knowledge of German and/or English would be an asset;- Professional experience 3 to 5 years minimum;- Knowledge of the specific territory.The position requires a residence less than one hour from the Lignon site.
