Institution of the City of Geneva, the Ariana Museum (ARI) – Swiss museum of ceramics and glass – is dedicated to the fire arts. At the crossroads of research and collection management, the museum is part of a dynamic of evolution of its practices, particularly through the development of its documentary and digital tools. The Ariana Museum is looking for a competent and motivated person to join its team as a scientific officer at 60%.Your mission and responsibilities- Contribute actively to the management, enrichment, and documentation of the collections, at the heart of the scientific activities of the Ariana Museum.- Ensure the inventory, cataloging, and putting online of works, ensuring compliance with standards (notably SPECTRUM) and the quality of the data produced.- Play a role as a point of contact for collection management tools (Museum+), participate in their development, their evolution, and their appropriation within the team, notably through the training of users.- Contribute to the structuring and interconnection of databases (documentary, archival, and library) with a view to better exploitation of the museum's resources.- Conduct data analyses derived from the collections and produce high-value-added restitutions (reports, syntheses) in service of scientific projects and the institution.- Develop, organize, and administer scientific documentation (provenance, archives, artist files) while guaranteeing its reliability and accessibility.- Contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge: writing scientific articles, producing digital content, contributing to research projects and online exhibitions.- Participate in the museum's scientific reflection on contemporary issues related to collections (intersectional approaches, new readings, digital) and contribute to the development of research projects, in connection with the institution's priorities and internal and external partners.Profile- Hold a Master's degree in art history, artistic studies, philosophy, or humanities, and justify at least 5 years of professional experience in a museum institution or a comparable environment, in connection with collection management.- Master standard tools (MS Office) perfectly and be comfortable with complex digital environments.- Demonstrate a particular sensitivity to issues related to metadata and data quality.- Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills and be able to process complex data and present it in a clear and structured manner.- Possess solid writing skills and be able to produce quality scientific content.- Know how to evolve in transversal environments, contribute to projects involving several stakeholders, and demonstrate autonomy while adopting a collaborative posture.- Possess good foundations in project management and appreciate roles mixing reflection, operations, and support.- Master French at a minimum C1 level and English at a minimum B2 level; a B2 level in German is desired.
