With more than 160 professions, the University Hospitals of Geneva are a reference institution on an international level. The GTOP (Geneva Oncology Programme) project is part of the Center for Research in Translational Oncology (CRTOH) at the University of Geneva. It brings together a scientific community of nearly 300 high-level researchers and clinicians. GTOP aims to promote precision oncology research based on tissue analysis, allowing for personalized determination of the best therapeutic options for each patient. The project brings together a team with diverse skills, ranging from sample management to the development and implementation of advanced analytical methods. In this context, we are looking for a full-time research assistant to join the team. As a research assistant in the Precision Oncology Service, and under the supervision of the project manager, you will be responsible for analyzing data from omics technologies and assisting researchers in selecting and implementing the most appropriate analytical methods. You will design and optimize data processing pipelines that incorporate necessary quality controls, ensure the storage and dissemination of data in accordance with established principles, produce clear and interpretable reports, contribute to the development of scientific protocols, as well as to the writing of publications. You will also maintain scientific and technological awareness to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field and actively participate in exchanges within the Faculty of Medicine's network. You hold a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/biological field or a related diploma and are fluent in English (C1). You have at least two years of experience in data analysis within a research group or technological setting, possess a solid understanding of omics techniques, microscopy image analysis, and data analysis algorithms, with demonstrated experience in analyzing data from multiplex immunofluorescence technologies, an essential skill for this position. You are proficient in scientific data management, as well as programming languages such as Python, R, and Bash. You are also comfortable with Git, data visualization tools, and analysis frameworks. You demonstrate analytical thinking and can work effectively in a team within an innovative research environment.
