Description

The Regional Strategy Manager, working closely with the Regional Sales Directors, is responsible to contribute to business strategies and operations through political analysis. She or He supports executive decision-making ensuring the company maintains its competitive edge in the global and regional markets. This role requires a combination of academic practices, experience in international relations, and strong interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Understanding and communicating relevant developments:

  • Global dynamics: Develop an in-depth understanding of global geopolitical trends, including stability and changes in world politics, conflicts as well as alliances.
  • Regional dynamics: Analyse regional political and economic dynamics and their impact on commercial operations in the areas of responsibility.
  • Domestic dynamics: Keep abreast of politics, policies and polities, as well as major developments in selected countries where the company operates or has significant interests.
  • Local dynamics: Understand local dynamics and the role of actors, including key figures, affecting SICPA’s operations and identify their interconnections.
  • Communicate orally or in writing results effectively to support the company’s decision making.

Integrate economics and technology:

  • Analyse global economic trends, taking account of interdependencies and the use of economic instruments for political purposes, to highlight their impact on company strategies.
  • Understand global and disruptive technology trends, assessing their impact on power dynamics between nations, global supply chains, business models and geopolitical dynamics with a view to drawing implications for the company.
  • Communicate results effectively to support the executive decision making.

Assess the impact of crises and helping to manage them

  • Identify and assess the operational, reputational, financial, security and market access aspects of geopolitical risks.
  • Integrate geopolitical perspectives into strategic planning, ensuring that they are considered in business decisions.
  • Help coordinate the company's response to geopolitical crises, mitigating potential damages and ensuring business continuity.
  • Recognise and communicate the opportunities presented by geopolitical change.

Geopolitical Monitoring and Foresight:

  • Monitor, analyse and report regularly on relevant geopolitical events/developments in the designated area of responsibility.
  • Anticipate any event/development likely to have an impact on SICPA’s operations. 
  • Use advanced data analytics, data science, and AI tools to process and interpret significant amounts of data.

Liaise:

  • Act as the main point of contact for all relations and scheduling with the security services in its area of responsibility; Monitor any changes in leadership in these services.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
  • Help identify the risks associated with the group’s operations.
  • Integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into geopolitical analysis and recommendations.

PROFILE

  • Advanced degree in international relations, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in political analysis, risk management and strategic planning in a business context.
  • International experience (foreign assignments or diplomatic service).
  • Knowledge of data science tools
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, French, any other language is an asset. 
  • Proven cultural skills and ability to work in heterogeneous international environments Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Crisis management experience.
  • Strong sense of corporate responsibility and integrity.
