Your energy in the service of a sustainable Geneva

As a Project Engineer in Automation, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of simulation tools (such as Flownex) for hydraulic networks and installations across all SIG activity areas to validate concepts being deployed, study their behaviour, optimise their operation and implement appropriate control systems;
  • Participate in the design of automation for facilities integrated into intelligent management systems within the framework of the Genilac and Geniterre thermal projects;
  • Develop or contribute to the development of tools/documents/rules necessary for standardising study and programming processes;
  • Create or contribute to the drafting of documents such as specifications, tender dossiers, functional analyses, test protocols, user manuals and project dossiers;
  • Manage projects in the study and implementation phases, in accordance with the objectives of respecting the cost, quality and deadline triptych;
  • Compose and manage teams of internal or external collaborators necessary to carry out the tasks or projects assigned to you.

Your personality and skills

This position requires the following skills:

  • Mastery of project management methods and tools;
  • Mastery or good knowledge of hydraulic process modelling and its application in industrial automation:
    • Definition and specification of automation principles for complex processes involving the implementation of a middleware-type management level.
    • Knowledge of modelling software: Flownex, DistrictLab.
  • Mastery or good knowledge of industrial process automation applied to hydraulics in thermal applications:
    • Definition and specification of process automation (control loops, command logic, system topology, communication networks…)
    • Definition and specification of sets of equipment and automated installations.
    • Basic knowledge of Swiss standards such as SIA, SUVA, NIBT, machine directive.
    • Knowledge of programming PLCs, HMIs and related products from Schneider (Modicon), Saia, PCVue.
    • Knowledge in instrumentation: sensors and actuators; speed drives; motorised valves; electric drives… and associated types of electrical signals.
  • Proactivity and initiative;
  • Ability to self-manage, manage collaborators or subcontractors;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ease of integration and teamwork skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication;
  • Ability to integrate a work group by bringing the strengths and constraints of the automation world;
  • Openness to change;
  • Interest in technological watch.

The following will be considered assets:

  • Knowledge of English (reading and speaking)
  • Continuing education in the field

Your background:

  • You are an automation engineer, having managed or participated in large-scale projects with at least 3-5 years of experience.
  • You have actively participated in a project group that analysed, modelled and controlled a complex industrial hydraulic process in the thermal production field.
  • You have good mastery of automation project management including administrative, financial parts, planning, monitoring and acceptance.
  • You have good experience with industrial PLCs and their implementation.
