Production Mechanic Apprentice (Federal VET Diploma)

Job Description

You will develop a variety of technical skills and learn to work across the entire manufacturing process. You will be expected to:

• Read and interpret technical drawings -- understand dimensions, tolerances and requirements necessary for production

• Precision machining -- learning traditional and CNC machining techniques (turning, milling, drilling, grinding)
• Parts manufacturing -- producing components according to technical plans and strict dimensional requirements
• Quality control -- checking dimensions, surface conditions and conformity using measuring instruments (micrometer, profile projector, comparator)
• Plan reading -- interpreting technical drawings, understanding tolerances and specifications
• Basic maintenance -- routine upkeep of machines and the workstation

• Excellent dexterity -- ease with technical gestures and precise manual work
• Strong interest in mechanics -- natural motivation to understand, handle and assemble mechanical elements
• Comfort with technical and mathematical subjects -- ability to approach scientific and logical concepts
• Dynamic attitude -- proactive approach and positive energy in daily work
• Good spatial vision -- ability to visualise shapes, volumes and assemblies
• Strong results in mathematics -- solid school foundation for calculations, measurements and technical reasoning
