Description

General Objective
  • Ensure continuous and sustainable economic optimization of process units within their Integrity and Design Operating Windows (IOW/DOW) by managing the Advanced Process Control (APC) systems portfolio. Acts as the APC subject matter expert, promoting and leading APC strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full APC application portfolio

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing APC systems; develop new applications where beneficial.

  • Provide daily optimization insights and constraint analysis to production and technology teams (ROP and RCT).

  • Identify and pursue new APC opportunities to improve unit performance.

  • Track and report APC performance KPIs (daily, monthly, annually); implement corrective measures as needed.

  • Design and implement new APC applications and soft sensors/quality estimators.

  • Participate in and follow up on APC-related audits, ensuring recommendations are addressed.

  • Act as project leader for Real-Time Optimization (RTO) and other APC-related initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with the RPA (Real-time Process Applications) team to enhance existing infrastructure and resolve technical issues.

  • Maintain close interaction with process technologists and operational staff to ensure alignment and support.

Professional Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Advanced Process Control within a manufacturing environment.

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
