Job Description

As a post-master legal trainee within the Sentence Enforcement Office, you analyse and monitor cases of convicted persons from the implementation of the criminal sentence until their final release.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the management of sentence enforcement and penal measures and address legal issues concerning convicted persons.
  • Provide support to the OEP Directorate regarding legal matters related to the management of criminal sentences, including drafting decisions or referrals to judicial authorities.
  • Accompany legal professionals at interdisciplinary meetings concerning convicted persons under the authority of the OEP as well as their hearings.

Qualifications

  • Holder of a Bachelor and a university Master’s degree in law, respectively in magistracy or criminology.
  • Excellent writing and synthesis skills.
  • Very comfortable with IT tools.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is desirable.
  • Strong interest in criminal law and the enforcement of sentences and measures, with already good theoretical knowledge in this area.
  • Empathetic, rigorous, very good stress resistance, able to maintain the necessary distance from detainees.

6-month internship, paid CHF 1,810.- / month

Our employment conditions require you to be Swiss or hold a C permit, free of debt enforcement records (an extract from the Debt Collection Office must be presented during the process), and your criminal record must be clean. There is a right to consult the criminal record under the Federal Law on the Criminal Record by the hiring authority for this position.
