Director of the Police AcademyJob DescriptionIn your capacity as Director of the Police Academy (AP), you ensure its leadership and management. You contribute to the promotion and general development of police training at the cantonal, intercantonal, and Swiss levels. Furthermore, you ensure the development and continuous improvement of pedagogical methods. You report regularly to the Steering Committee (CODIR), to which the position is politically and administratively subordinate, and to the Steering Committee (COPIL), to which the position is subordinate pedagogically. By virtue of your attachment to the Vaud Cantonal Police (PCV), you report on daily aspects and monitoring to the Commander of the PCV.Responsibilities- Assume the direction of the Academy, issue orders and directives regulating the activity and proper functioning of the service, and ensure their proper execution.- Manage permanent instructional and administrative staff. Supervise staff recruitment. In coordination with the corps of origin, ensure that staff follow the training required for the exercise of their function on professional and pedagogical levels.- Establish the Academy's budget (equipment, operations, etc.), in coordination with the designated financial manager, ensuring in particular compliance with the cantonal financial legal and regulatory framework, as well as the financial and budgetary rules applicable to the Academy's partners.- Guarantee the proper conduct of basic training for police aspirants and public safety assistants.- Analyze and issue proposals to political and strategic governance bodies regarding the general policy of the Academy's training.- Ensure the development of the new site. Propose and implement an adapted and innovative policy in the field of police training based on continuous monitoring of the evolution of the environment and the needs of the corps.- Ensure the integration of new technologies into content and pedagogical methods.- Represent the Academy in intercantonal bodies, as well as attend meetings and working groups in connection with training at all levels.For further information, please consult the job description by clicking here.You will also find additional information on the activities of the Police Academy at:Requirements- Hold a university degree in psychology, law, social sciences, forensic sciences, criminology, economics, or equivalent.- Hold a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in police engagement leadership (CAS CEP), or be willing to complete it.- Pedagogical training, particularly in adult education, or equivalent experience required.- Accomplished experience in the field of training (10 years) with at least 5 years in an entity leadership function.- Swiss national or holder of a C permit.- May be required to provide on-call services (to be determined with the employer).- Possible engagements in the evening (ceremonies), at night (exercises), and on weekends (exercises, special actions, etc.).- Must make a private vehicle available for service and receives the indemnity provided for by the LPers technical directive.- Our employment conditions require that you be free of debt collection proceedings or certificates of unpaid debts.
