Physics Teacher

Studya is looking for a motivated and experienced physics teacher to support students in their academic progress.

We are recruiting mainly for our Geneva centre, while also seeking teachers for our Lausanne centre.

Your mission

You will provide physics lessons, individually or in small groups, to students from the Orientation Cycle, colleges and grammar schools, as well as other upper secondary education programmes (Student ages 8-19 years...), adapting your teaching to the level, needs and objectives of each student.

Your main responsibilities

  • Deliver physics lessons tailored to the level and needs of each student.
  • Support students with their homework, preparation for assessments, exams, the Swiss Matura and the French Baccalaureate.
  • Explain scientific concepts clearly, concretely and accessibly.
  • Strengthen foundations, develop working methods and scientific reasoning.
  • Identify students’ difficulties and propose personalised educational support.
  • Prepare students for the requirements of Swiss school curricula and, where applicable, French curricula.
  • Encourage autonomy, self-confidence and academic success in students.

Profile sought

We are looking for a serious, pedagogical person passionate about knowledge transfer.

The candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent university degree in physics or a closely related field.
  • Excellent command of physics at the Orientation Cycle, college, grammar school and upper secondary levels.
  • Experience in teaching or academic support.
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written (native language).
  • Good knowledge of Swiss school curricula. Knowledge of French curricula is a real asset.
  • Excellent rapport with children, adolescents and young adults.
  • Patience, pedagogical skills and a genuine passion for teaching.
  • A valid work permit or authorisation for Switzerland.
  • A clean criminal record.

Workplace

The recruitment concerns our two centres:

  • Geneva (priority recruitment)
  • Lausanne

Hours

Lessons are offered during the following time slots:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 2:00 pm – 6:15 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm – 4:15 pm

Availability for all these time slots is desired.
