Beschreibung

We are seeking a PhD Student in the field of X-ray imaging, focused on the multi-scale characterization of bone structures across different species.

As part of your role, you will investigate the architecture of long bones using synchrotron X-ray imaging techniques, making connections to their mechanical properties.

You will also develop and implement Python-based analysis tools for X-ray imaging in collaboration with our research team, design and conduct experiments centered on X-ray characterization of mineralized biological tissues, including tensor tomography using small-angle X-ray scattering, and publish your findings in scientific journals as well as present them at international conferences.

To qualify for this position, you should hold a Master's degree in Biology, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Strong communication skills in English are essential, and programming experience in Python will be viewed favorably. Your interest in interdisciplinary research that bridges biology, computational tools, and X-ray methods is important.

Our institution offers a collaborative, innovative, and dynamic work environment. You will benefit from systematic on-the-job training and opportunities for personal growth along with a strong vocational training culture. We support a healthy work-life balance and provide modern employment conditions and on-site infrastructure.
