Nursing Assistant / Night Home Care Team / 50% / Fixed-term contract of 11 or 12 months
Attached to the management of the Home Hospitalisation Centre (CHAD), the night Home Care Team (EMD) supports the day teams by offering late bedtime services to promote home care and the client’s level of autonomy. The nursing assistant provides services independently or in pairs, respecting the client’s lifestyle, beliefs, values, and culture, at their home. They are required to travel throughout the canton of Geneva between 9:00 pm and 1:00 am.
Your duties and responsibilities
- Assist clients whose health requires it with going to bed using the available means, alone or in pairs, by delegation of care and as a supplement to the day teams
- Provide basic care in accordance with learned techniques, respecting safety, effectiveness, and comfort criteria, following the instructions of the situation referent
- Intervene in the client’s immediate environment to preserve their comfort and safety
- Observe any changes in the client’s activity and behaviour during the intervention to anticipate any potential risks to their health and autonomy.
Qualifications
- Nursing assistant diploma or equivalent training
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience at home or in an institution; experience in the disability sector is an asset
- Good interpersonal and observational skills, while being discreet
- Listening and understanding others in a home environment requiring adaptability
- Ability to develop a professional relationship respecting the client’s individuality
- Aptitude for working independently
- Ability to travel throughout the canton using a vehicle provided by the institution.
