The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents. This department’s mission is to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to address the health issues faced by newborns, children and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. It works on developing cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in various specialties.

The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents aims to offer quality care adapted to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health problems faced by newborns, children and adolescents from birth to 16 years old. For many years, the department has continuously developed advanced services and centres of expertise in several medical specialties.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service (SPEA) provides hospital care in day hospital or outpatient settings for children and adolescents suffering from mental disorders. It offers holistic psychological and child psychiatric care, considering the patient as a whole, including their family and social network. SPEA is a category A training centre for postgraduate medical education.

Since autumn 2023, the service has been located in the new premises of the House of Childhood and Adolescence (MEA), which brings together all the service units in a particularly welcoming environment, specifically designed to improve the quality of care for the most vulnerable young patients.

Open to the city, the MEA reimagines the hospital by viewing psychiatric medicine in a new light. It creates a bridge between the medical world and cultural, educational, scientific and sporting fields to destigmatise the place and facilitate relations with the outside world in connection with the Convergences Foundation. Accessible to the general public, the ground floor and basement are entirely dedicated to culture and physical activities.

Nurse in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service - 60% to 100%

You wish to commit yourself to a dynamic, multidisciplinary and dedicated team at the heart of a specialised hospital service in child psychiatry.

Within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service at the heart of the House of Childhood and Adolescence, you will work in specialised hospital structures caring for young people aged 6 to 18 with complex and varied psychiatric disorders (ASD, behavioural disorders, suicidal crises, psychoses, personality disorders, complex social situations, etc.).

Several positions are available, with varied assignments according to needs: in general hospital units welcoming young people aged 6 to 18, within the Malatavie hospital unit specialised in managing suicidal crises in adolescents aged 13 to 18, or in the short-term replacement pool, which operates transversally across several units.

Clinical care includes active participation in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, taking into account the specific needs of patients while relying on their resources and strengths. It involves close collaboration with families and relatives, as well as daily therapeutic support integrating various relational approaches, such as psychodynamic models or cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT). It also includes crisis management through de-escalation measures, containment interventions (physical or relational) and the application of emergency protocols. The nurse is expected to propose care approaches adapted to the developmental, relational and psychopathological dimensions of young people and to ensure the administration of prescribed treatments.

Interdisciplinary work involves active participation in clinical meetings, synthesis meetings, meetings between referents, and team reflections on therapeutic projects. It also includes contributing to clinical development work, close collaboration with families, relatives and care partners, and rigorous transmission of clinical observations. The nurse takes part in the co-construction of the care project alongside other professionals involved.

Institutional involvement is reflected in active contribution to service projects, continuous improvement of professional practices and implementation of new therapeutic approaches. It also includes participation in continuing education, both internal and external, as well as supervision of nursing students.

We are looking for a professional with experience or a strong interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychopathology. Commitment to continuous training is expected, as well as the skills necessary to obtain a CAS in mental health and clinical psychiatry. Adaptability, autonomy, flexibility, rigour and a team spirit are essential qualities. We wish to welcome a motivated person ready to invest in an institutional project where multidisciplinary work is a pillar of therapeutic work. Good mastery of complex clinical situations, such as managing violence, crises or refusal of care, is also required.

We offer the opportunity to join a caring, experienced and multidisciplinary team within a stimulating work environment. Regular time is dedicated to clinical exchanges and institutional work. The richness and diversity of situations encountered allow daily professional development. The position offered is both demanding and fulfilling, at the heart of a flexible and constantly evolving system that values the creativity of the caregiver. You will join a dynamic institutional framework marked by the development of numerous therapeutic projects.
