Description
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, qualify and maintain automated assembly processes of light sources in the visible or near-infrared wavelength range, based on micro-optical components.
- Develop, validate, qualify and maintain manufacturing processes such as gluing with UV-curable epoxies, soldering, wire-bonding and hermetic packaging.
- Manage and take responsibility for automated packaging platforms (assembly robots) and semiconductor chip testing platforms (testing robots).
- Build prototypes in close collaboration with optical engineers, test new designs, run failure analysis and explore new packaging technologies.
- Guide and manage transition and production ramp-up of new products from prototypes to high-volume products.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in applied physics, mechatronics, automation, robotics or similar fields.
- 2+ years of experience in a production environment.
- Very hands-on and be able to troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in free-space optics, semiconductor lasers or beam collimation
- Knowledge and experience with SolidWorks
- Experience with epoxy gluing or solder processes
- Fluent in writing and speaking English
