Lawyer Job Description As a lawyer at the Vaud Cantonal Police (PCV), you will manage legal and political files, also serving as a proactive contributor to the command and members of the executive board (EM). By joining the PCV, you contribute to a public service committed to the safety and maintenance of social cohesion. Responsibilities Support the PCV Commander in their dealings with the Department (DJES), responding to parliamentary interventions and preparing correspondence from the Department specifically concerning police services' activities. Support the command and the legal director in dealings with the Public Prosecutor's Office, ensuring follow-up on files and responding to prosecutors regarding the conduct of judicial police activities. Analyze files, prepare the necessary legal notes and opinions, and propose solutions to legal issues encountered by the service and the bodies. Handle litigation before courts and authorities, particularly concerning intervention costs, measures (prohibition orders, hooliganism, etc.), the production of judicial police files, access to personal data, and rights related to projects. Collaborate with the legal director and the HR director in monitoring disciplinary procedures. Provide training to police officers and non-police staff within the service and at the Police Academy as needed and within your area of expertise. Be a graduate in legislative drafting and/or post-graduate in the field of security, criminal law, or related fields (preferred). Experience in criminal law, criminal procedure, administrative law, and labor law (8 years). Good knowledge of Vaud public procedures (ACV). Swiss citizen or holder of a permit.
