Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

• Laboratory Support: You prepare microbiological culture media, reagents, glassware, and laboratory consumables, label, document, and distribute them in compliance with GMP requirements. You also support daily laboratory operations, ensure clean and organised work areas, and guarantee the timely availability of all materials needed for testing.
• Inventory and Material Management: You receive laboratory items and consumables, inspect, store, and manage them. Furthermore, you monitor stock levels, coordinate reorders, and support the provision of laboratory clothing and personal protective equipment.
• Waste, Equipment, and Facility Support: You perform tasks related to laboratory waste management and maintain the associated documentation. Additionally, you conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and work areas, document the results, and report deviations or issues to the responsible contacts as needed.
• Quality and Compliance: You ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with GMP, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Moreover, you carefully maintain the required documentation and support investigations, CAPA measures, and process improvement initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement and Training: You contribute to the optimisation of laboratory processes and documentation, support training activities, share best practices, and promote efficiency, compliance, and the quality of services provided.

Your Profile

At Avantor, we are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Service Technician (m/f/d) – Microbiology to provide essential laboratory services in a GMP-regulated microbiological laboratory at our customer site in Schaffhausen.

In this role, you are responsible for the timely provision of materials for microbiological testing, ensuring laboratory readiness, supporting inventory and waste management processes, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

You work closely with laboratory analysts, technicians, and supervisors to ensure compliance with GMP requirements, customer policies, and applicable health, safety, and quality standards, while ensuring efficient microbiological testing operations.

This position is fully on-site at the customer location in Schaffhausen. We offer a permanent full-time contract (40 hours/week). Working hours are regular, Monday to Friday. No shift or weekend work is required.

Your Profile

Education: Completed technical training, vocational training, or equivalent qualification in laboratory technology, biotechnology, microbiology, life sciences, or a related field.

Professional Experience: Experience in a GMP-regulated environment within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical technology industry or a comparable laboratory is required. Experience supporting microbiological laboratory operations is advantageous. Knowledge of laboratory inventory management, media preparation, or general laboratory service tasks is desirable.
