Description of the Responsible for the IGV at the Directorate of Veterinary Affairs and the Galli-Valerio Institute (IGV) plays a central role in combating epizootics as well as in the epidemiological surveillance of animal diseases. The main missions include the diagnosis of animal diseases, analyses related to food safety, and diagnostic activities concerning other animal conditions. As an official, they closely collaborate with cantonal and federal authorities, as well as with veterinary professionals, to ensure rigorous and reactive health monitoring in response to emerging issues. Joining the Galli-Valerio Institute, the person in charge will be part of a team engaged in an essential public service approach, where scientific rigor meets collective utility. They will actively contribute to the proper functioning of this structure by supervising the technical and logistical activities that support our surveillance and prevention missions.Responsibilities include defining and deploying the strategy in alignment with management while steering performance through the analysis of internal synergies, managing external relationships, and continually proposing avenues for medical and analytical and forensic development while advising clients and authorities, ensuring the scientific and regulatory evolution of methods, and supervising the quality system (ISO) and methodological compliance. This includes ensuring compliance with tools for resolving non-conformities and continuous performance improvement through monitoring and managing budgetary aspects by optimizing flows, equipment, and stock while supervising teams, developing skills, and strictly adhering to biosecurity standards.
