At Bavarian Nordic Berna GmbH, our Swiss production site employs 215 professionals across various departments including production, quality control, quality assurance, process development, engineering, and supply chain, all collaborating daily to produce life-saving vaccines.
To strengthen our Quality Control department, we are seeking a
Lab Operations & Materials Specialist (f/m/d)
You will be part of a talented, collaborative team that works closely with production, quality assurance, and supply chain. Our diverse team consists of experienced professionals and newcomers, allowing for a rich learning environment. We take pride in our strong team spirit and mutual support.
Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure the clean organization of the microbiology laboratory adhering to hygiene and sterilization protocols, which includes tasks like glassware cleaning and autoclaving.
- Manage laboratory waste distribution and garment services for lab coats.
- Maintain precise laboratory documentation, archiving, and filing systems.
- Oversee inventory management, Kanban processes, and demand-based ordering in LIMS.
- Handle the storage, labeling, and removal processes for released, consumed, or expired materials.
- Support lab operations through water sampling, LIMS registrations, and preparation of culture media.
- Coordinate the maintenance, repairs, and calibration processes of laboratory equipment to ensure operational readiness.
About You:
- Initial laboratory experience or a similar role is essential; experience in the pharmaceutical sector is preferable.
- Meticulous and structured work approach with a strong focus on detail.
- Solid understanding of quality and hygiene standards.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities and accountability.
- A team-oriented, hands-on mindset with a willingness to engage in various lab activities.
- Proficiency with IT systems; familiarity with LIMS is a plus.
- Fluent in German (both written and spoken); English skills are advantageous.
