Your Role ###

As Junior Fixed Income Sales/-trader at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are an ambitious individual who is seeking to help building our growing Fixed Income Sales & Trading franchise and provide excellent service to the Bank-s institutional and bank clients.

Your Responsibilities ###

  • Take operational lead for day-to-day sales tasks. This includes sending out runs and axes, responding to generic client inquiries in a sophisticated and proactive manner, setting up new clients and prospects for trading, keeping distribution lists updated, and sending out desk publications and end-of-day emails
  • Participate in client visits and events to support senior colleagues. Over time, schedule and conduct client visits independently with both Swiss-based and international clients
  • Discuss trade ideas, axes, and general market views with clients and prospects on an ongoing basis
  • Support the desk with KYC tasks, including account openings and client reviews
  • Write and compile market comments, new issue views, and relative value ideas, leveraging support from senior sales or trading colleagues
  • Serve as the first point of contact for post-trade requests, including trade corrections, buy-in requests, trade reconciliations, and booking errors, collaborating with fellow sales and trading colleagues as needed
  • Support the desk by assuming select market-making tasks under the supervision of the Head of Trading

Your Profile ###

  • University degree (university / FH) in Engineering or Quantitative Finance, with 2 - 3 years of practical experience in Sales & Trading and first relevant work experience in Banking and Finance via Internships or as a Graduate
  • Strong background in coding, analytics, and quantitative finance. Proficient with Bloomberg, AI Tools, Analytic Tools, and Excel; profound IT-affinity is required. Knowledge in these areas is a distinct advantage for contributing to both Sales and Trading sides
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills combined with excellent Microsoft Office skills. Capable of working under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment with a hands-on mentality
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders. Proven experience in building networks to drive business forward
  • Demonstrates strong work ethics, integrity, and a high level of accountability. Willing to take responsibility quickly and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus
