The Coercive Measures Court (CMC) is the cantonal authority responsible for approving, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Judges of the Juvenile Criminal Court, the Police, a Court of First Instance, the Penal Sanctions and Probation Enforcement Service, as well as the Population and Migrants Service, particularly incisive coercive measures, both at the criminal and administrative levels. Its decisions are made by a single judge.
Desired profile
- Lawyer’s diploma, licence or master’s degree in law, and sufficient practical knowledge for the role
- Proven skills in criminal law
- 60% position, requiring great availability to ensure on-call duties
- Active citizenship at the cantonal level. Foreign nationals must hold a settlement permit and have been domiciled in the canton for at least five years. Candidates must not be subject to bankruptcy proceedings nor have been criminally convicted for acts incompatible with the role
- Proficiency in German and French. The elected person will have to handle cases in both languages
