With over 160 professions represented, the University Hospitals of Geneva are a reference establishment at the level. The oncology department provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for children and adults suffering from cancer and offers support for patients and their loved ones. The objective is to ensure access to the best cancer treatments, to propose appropriate care, and to anticipate the needs of hospitalized patients (bone marrow transplant, cell therapy, immunotherapy, etc.). Together, the Cancer Center allows for transversal activities dedicated to cancer care across services and departments. It includes 4 services (oncology, precision oncology, and radiation oncology) and is composed of approximately 300 professionals who provide diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients suffering from benign or malignant blood diseases, whether hospitalized or outpatient. This service is involved in various clinical research activities in collaboration with the University of Geneva and is also involved in different groups such as SAKK, EBMT, GRAALL, SFGM-TC, HOVON, CML X group, CLL german study group, etc. Several internships are carried out during the semester under the direct supervision of a head clinician. The internships include (intensive treatment, allogeneic stem cell transplant, CAR-T & bispecifics) as well as the follow-up of outpatient and hospitalized allograft patients. They also include the lymphoma and myeloma unit as well as the myeloid and blood disease unit, in outpatient clinics and a diagnostic program that includes cytology, flow cytometry, and the possibility of contributing to intra-hospital activity. Depending on availability, internships may include transfusion medicine and apheresis, as well as a position in the department - 100%. You will be in charge of treating patients with stem cell issues and problems such as acute leukemias, lymphomas, and other malignant and benign conditions and ensuring quality medical care, both clinically and contributing to the training of doctors. In parallel to your activity, you have the opportunity to benefit from a high-quality postgraduate program contributing to obtaining a specialist title as a reference center for stem cell allotransplantation in the Romandy region of Switzerland, as well as participation in two institutional boards for the management of patients in the canton of Geneva. We offer you the opportunity to handle the entire spectrum of clinical pathology (malignant and benign). You will be integrated into a dynamic team composed of 15 senior physicians and 7 residents. You hold a medical degree or possess a qualification deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO). For non-French speakers, a C1 level in French is required in spoken and written form. You have good knowledge in medicine and demonstrate excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are an autonomous, flexible, and committed person with a curious, involved personality who enjoys teamwork.
