Head of Public Works and Water DepartmentGeneral activities- Technical, financial, and administrative management of the activities of the public works and water department- Financial management of the department (investment and operating budget) and ensuring its proper implementation and monitoring- Administrative management (correspondence, notices, reports, public procurement, quotes, budget preparation, closing of accounts, stock management, and administrative monitoring)- Personnel management of the public works and water department (monitoring hours, vacations, and on-call service, annual interviews, monitoring training)- Liaison with cantonal and municipal services, authorities, the population, and external partners- Management and organization of team work- Management of vehicle fleet maintenance and its renewal- Monitoring compliance with safety standards and reporting to political bodies- Work and supervision of the maintenance of municipal roads, sidewalks, public squares, green spaces, cemeteries, fountains, and related infrastructure- Road management and safety of road users during maintenance and repair work- Supervision of building maintenance (Abbaye de Fleurier, municipal buildings), snow removal actions within the department and with external partnersWater- Management of the water department and water distribution to guarantee water quality according to standards and ensure the proper functioning of facilities- Planning of preventive maintenance and monitoring of networks and structures- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of projects related to investment planning (PGEE and PGA) and network extensions- Ensure the proper functioning of the wastewater network and its treatment- Management of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and underground network- Management of PGEE and PGA construction sites and management of underground network maintenanceRequirements- Civil engineering degree (HES) or equivalent in facility management- 4 to 7 years of prior professional experience in a similar role- Knowledge of the functioning of a municipal administration- Good command of road maintenance methods and standards- Ability to develop, read, and interpret plans- Skills in construction site management and project monitoring- Fluent in office tools and ideally technical management software- Driver's license- Sense of organization, responsibilities, and priorities- Versatility- Team spirit and general technical knowledge- Being a volunteer firefighter is considered an assetConditions- Salary according to the salary scale and social benefits of the Municipality of Val-de-Travers- Start date: October 1st or by arrangementFor any further information, the head of the infrastructure department is at your disposal.
