The Freiburg Red Cross (SRK) is a cantonal association founded in 1909 and a member of the Swiss Red Cross. Our association employs around 160 staff, is supported by 500 volunteers, and operates in the fields of health, migration, and social affairs. We are particularly committed to all people in need and respect the principles of the Red Cross.

Head of Home Support Department
(Member of the Executive Board)
You are responsible for managing all services in the area of home care and support for the elderly as well as for supporting families. This area of responsibility particularly includes the Red Cross transport service, home visits, the Red Cross emergency call service, relief for relatives, supervised meals, and emergency care for sick children through the Little Red Riding Hood service.
In this role, you rely on a team of around ten specialised, motivated, and experienced employees. This team is complemented by around 30 external staff who work in the relief service for relatives and in the Little Red Riding Hood service for emergency childcare at home. Of the approximately 500 volunteers engaged in the institution, about 200 are involved in the activities of your department.
As a member of the executive board, you contribute to the operational decisions of the institution and are accountable for these to the affected employees, volunteers, and partners.
Main tasks:
- Leading activities in accordance with the goals and guidelines of the institution
- Management and administration of the service in the areas of organisation, finance, and team management
- Promotion and further development of activities towards the public, authorities, and other partners
- Building, maintaining, and developing a network of private and institutional partners within the framework of various activities in home care and support
- Managing and further developing cantonal and national mandates while complying with established requirements.
Desired profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences, management, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Proven experience in the operational management of a comparable activity
- Strong team and sense of responsibility
- Native French or German speaker with very good knowledge of the other language
- Proficiency in common IT and administrative tools
- Natural leadership qualities and several years of experience managing a multidisciplinary team
- Social competence and confident communication with colleagues and external partners.
