Description
Head Coach & Community Manager
Head Coach & Community Manager
tone.
tone. is one of Switzerland's leading boutique fitness brands. Our signature workout is a high-intensity, low-impact, immersive full-body class on a Pilates-inspired reformer — designed to build strength and flexibility through slow, controlled movement. Alongside our partner studio NOW, we currently operate 5 studios in Zürich and are expanding to 10–50 studios across Europe in the coming years. Our mission is to help people create the strongest version of themselves and improve their fitness, health, and overall life. Our workouts don't just transform bodies — they transform lifestyles.
We are looking for 2–3 Head Coach & Community Managers who are ready to lead — not just teach. You will initially oversee 2–3 tone. studios, transitioning to a single studio as the Head Coach & Community Manager as the team grows. This role requires significant in-studio presence, so we ask candidates to indicate their preferred studio location during the application. Final studio assignment is determined through the interview process, and we may suggest an alternative location if we believe it is a stronger fit.
What you will do
Coach & lead the experience
Maintain a full teaching schedule – 8-14 classes per week, with availability across mornings, evenings and weekends
Deliver best-in-class tone. classes that consistently meet the coaching quality standard – you are the benchmark
Follow tone. programming, springs, and playlist guidelines for a consistent, on-brand studio experience
Own the in-studio client journey – new client welcome and follow-up, retention conversations, proactive outreach to lapsing members
Support in-studio sales – know current packages and promotions, build client loyalty through the experience and the relationship
Be the first point of contact for client concerns; respond promptly and escalate where needed
Build relationships with the local wellness community to strengthen tone.’s presence and drive organic growth through marketing support
Develop the team
Deliver weekly informal touchpoints with each coach – one specific, actionable piece of feedback per conversation
Run monthly scorecard review with each coach – own the development conversation between formal check-ins with the Head of Product & Training
Support new coach training during ITP cohorts – in-studio support and feedback sessions, as needed
Flag coaches who are below standard; support the execution of any improvement plans
Work with the Head of Product & Training to organize at least one team touchpoint per quarter – workshop, training, or team event that builds cohesion and culture
Run the studio
Ensure the studio opens and closes on brand – equipment is impeccable, coaches are prepared, standards are met daily
Manage sub requests and schedule coverage at the studio level; escalate scheduling infrastructure to the Area Manager and/or Head of Operations (as applicable)
Hold coaches accountable to pre and post-class duties – client engagement, announcements, studio checklist, & community building support
Monitor studio-level client data – utilization, retention, new client tracking, & member growth
Participate in regular meetings with the Area Manager and/or Head of Operations (as applicable) and Head of Product & Training; provide honest, timely updates on team and studio health
What we are looking for
2-3 years of group fitness coaching experience – boutique studio background preferred, but strong coaches from any format are welcome
Proven track record of strong class utilization and client retention
Experience giving feedback or developing other coaches – formally or informally
Comfortable on a mic leading high-energy classes with loud music and a full room
Genuine investment in the growth of the people around you – their success feels like yours
You coach for the brand, not for yourself – client relationships belong to tone., not to you personally
Flexible availability – mornings, evenings, and weekends; able to accommodate fluctuating studio needs
English required; German is a strong plus
tone. ITP certification required before or shortly after hire
What you get
Base salary of CHF 55-65k plus commission
Opportunity for career growth as tone. expands
Ongoing coaching and development from the Head of Product & Training
Be part of one of Switzerland’s leading boutique fitness brands at a pivotal moment in its expansion
tone. branded apparel
Complimentary sessions across all tone. and NOW studios
Discounts at Prots & Coffee Bar
How to apply
Complete the application form here. We are looking for someone who is ready to lead from day one.
External Applicants Please submit a 1–2 minute coaching video of yourself leading any exercise-based activity. This does not have to be Pilates or reformer-based — choose a movement you know well and can coach confidently.
Internal Applicants (tone. or NOW) Please submit a 5-minute video of yourself coaching a session at tone. or NOW.
What we are looking for:
Clear, specific cueing - tell us what to do, how to do it, and why it matters
Energy and presence - coach like there are real people in the room
Ability to educate - speak to the muscle, the movement, or the purpose behind the exercise
Your personality - we want to see how you show up, not a polished production
A few guidelines:
No editing required — one take is fine
External applicants: you do not need equipment or a studio setting
Coach to a real or imagined client — do not just demonstrate the movement in silence
Submit your video as part of your application. For questions, reach out via this platform. jida576a50a jit0624a jiy26a
