## About Our Client ##

GL Accountant - Commodity Trading Company A leading global commodity trading company is looking for a **GL Accountant** to join its Finance team in Geneva. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust accounting processes, and supporting the month-end and year-end close cycles. This role offers exposure to a dynamic international environment and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.


## Job Description ##



ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Financial Reporting



*

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
*

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
*

Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
*

Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
*

Support statutory reporting and audit processes.



Process Improvement



*

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
*

Participate in finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
*

Contribute to the development of best practices within the Finance team.



Cross-Functional Collaboration



*

Work closely with Treasury, Tax, Operations, and Trading Finance teams.
*

Support ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and projects as required by management.

## The Successful Applicant ##

Profile RequiredBackground & Experience



*

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
*

**4+ years of experience in audit or accounting, ideally from a Big 4 firm.**
*

Strong understanding of IFRS and general ledger processes.
*

Experience in an international or fast-paced environment is an asset.
