Head of GEODES (Geology, Soils, Waste and Groundwater)Job DescriptionPosition at the Directorate of Resources and Natural Heritage (DGE-DIRNA) of the Canton of Vaud. The DIRNA is responsible for implementing the management and protection policy for natural resources and the environment of the canton. The main missions of this directorate are to guarantee, at the cantonal and regional level, the integrated management of natural resources and the environment (water, subsoil, forest, biodiversity, etc.), to ensure the implementation of the cantonal risk management policy as well as to provide authorities and the population with data in terms of resources, risks and environment. Within the DIRNA, you lead the missions and steer the Geology, Soils, Waste and Groundwater (GEODES) division in collaboration with the managers of these sections.Responsibilities- Steering of public policies and expertise and implementation of cantonal strategies in terms of circular economy, subsoil management, soils and waste.- Integration of these policies into regulatory and planning frameworks and management of natural resources.- Management of a division of about thirty employees and of the human and financial resources allocated to projects.- Provision of a simple, fast and efficient public service for citizens and institutional partners.- Spokesperson for the division to professional circles and federal bodies.- Transversal coordination of activities with the other divisions of the DIRNA, the DGE and with the other directorates of the Canton of Vaud.- Supervision of relations with the public and key stakeholders.- As a proposal force and expert in the field, you are able to manage and bring real added value to your team in the conduct of projects.For more details, you can download the job description accessible by activating this link. We thank you for sending us your file in a single PDF document, to facilitate the processing.Profile- University or EPF degree in the field of the environment or equivalent title.- Postgraduate degree in one of the division's areas of competence.- Managerial and/or public policy training desired.- Minimum 8 years of experience in one of the division's areas of competence.- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in the private or public sector (primary or secondary sector or engineering firm).- Proven interest in natural resource policy.- Ability to unite teams and leadership, sense of responsibility and public service ethics.
