Title: Fixed-term Contract First Job - Water and Gas Network Installer

What we will achieve together

As an experienced Network Installer, you carry out maintenance and operational work on the Drinking Water Distribution Network to ensure the water supply to customers. The creation on 1 January 2023 of the EPG (Drinking Water Gas) activity will also lead you to work on gas installations.


The Water and Gas Construction unit (CEG) of the Drinking Water Gas (EPG) activity is attached to the Thermal, Gas and Water Directorate (TGE). Its mission is to guarantee the continuity of operation and the quality of drinking water distribution, as well as the studies and execution of drinking water and gas network works.

Your tasks will be as follows:

  • Carry out extension and renewal works of pipes according to current standards and in compliance with safety regulations;
  • Prepare the parts and tools necessary for the completion of the sites;
  • Carry out repairs in case of leaks on the network;
  • Participate in internal exchanges and provide a first level of response to customers and stakeholders on the sites;
  • Contribute to promoting the SIG brand image.

  • With good physical condition, you are able to work outdoors and in a difficult and confined environment;
  • Your team spirit is essential for collaboration and smooth operation within the teams;
  • Knowledge in the gas field is an asset that will give you versatility;
  • A driving licence is required;
  • Work start at 7 a.m.

Your academic background
Holder of a Federal VET Diploma as a sanitary installer, or a training considered equivalent, you master the general techniques, the equipment used and the current standards.

The term "young graduates" refers to persons who have completed their studies within the last 18 months, seeking a first professional experience related to their academic background.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of a reference annual gross salary of CHF 59,400.-- (100% basis) spread over thirteen salaries according to your diploma level.
