## Job Description ##

EMEA Recruitment has exclusively partnered with an international energy commodities business that has recently expanded its Swiss operations and is continuing to build out its finance and controlling capability in the Zug area.

The business operates in a fast-moving, international environment, with close collaboration between Switzerland and wider European finance teams. This is a newly created role, suited to someone who enjoys a varied finance position covering accounting, controlling, reporting, reconciliations, systems, and process improvement.

### Role Overview ###

 

The Financial Controller will support the Swiss finance team across monthly and annual closings, reporting, cash flow, reconciliations, audit support, and internal process improvements. The role will work closely with controlling, finance, accounting, treasury, and commercial stakeholders, while also collaborating with shared support teams across Europe.

This position would suit someone with a strong accounting or controlling foundation who is comfortable working hands-on and is looking to join a growing international business.

### Key Responsibilities ###

 

* Support monthly and annual closing activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely completion of key finance tasks.
* Prepare cash flow reporting and support liquidity planning in collaboration with local finance and treasury teams.
* Analyse financial and operational data, including valuations, reconciliations, inventory movements, and portfolio-related variances.
* Support monthly group reporting, consolidation processes, and reconciliations between local, group accounting, and trading systems.
* Partner with internal stakeholders across finance, controlling, accounting, operations, and commercial teams to provide clear financial insight.
* Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, reporting automation, and the further development of Power BI and Excel-based reporting tools.

### Key Requirements ###

 

* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 to 4 years- experience in accounting, controlling, finance analysis, audit, consulting, or a similar finance-focused role.
* Strong Excel skills, with experience working on reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and financial data.
* Exposure to SAP or SAP S/4HANA would be helpful, while experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, or DAX would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of IFRS and/or Swiss Code of Obligations would be advantageous.
* Business fluent English is required; German would be a plus but is not essential.
