Job description:
Develop technical concepts and solutions and contribute to feasibility studies to meet functional and technical requirements.
Take ownership of software development activities, including implementation, testing, reviews and documentation.
Define, estimate and plan software work packages, ensuring effective and timely delivery.
Create and maintain software specifications and designs, while contributing to the overall software architecture and quality standards.
Collaborate with software, hardware and system engineering teams throughout development and integration.
Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues and implement robust bug fixes, including for post-market software releases.
Ensure compliance with established development processes, quality requirements and regulatory standards, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
About the customer:
This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of Rust, real-time systems and physical hardware, working on software where performance, reliability and predictability are critical.
Requirements:
2+ years of professional Rust development experience, with a strong understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and error handling
Professional experience developing embedded or systems-level software
Experience with real-time Linux (PREEMPT_RT) or a comparable RTOS
Hands-on experience with CAN bus communication – essential
Strong understanding of real-time concepts including latency, jitter and task scheduling
Experience with asynchronous programming in Rust
Solid Linux knowledge and familiarity with embedded build and debugging tools
