Librarian-Documentalist - Electronic Resources SpecialistJob DescriptionDue to the size of its collections, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) is one of the largest libraries in Switzerland. A public cultural and academic institution, the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) reports to the Directorate General of Culture (DGC).The Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) provides users of the network with a set of subscriptions to online resources, accessible from the various sites of the institution, or remotely for members of the university community. These electronic resources include journals, ebooks, and databases specific to the needs of the faculties of the University of Lausanne (UNIL), as well as collections for the general public. As a specialist in electronic resources, you take part in the complete acquisition cycle: from identifying needs to negotiating contracts and monitoring licenses. In addition, you ensure the consistency of the cataloging across all channels of the Journals, E-books, and Databases (REB) section.Responsibilities- Participate in the acquisition of electronic resources for all delegates at the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL) in accordance with acquisition policies.- Ensure the promotion and quality of the reporting of electronic resources acquired by the BCUL.- Be responsible for testing new digital resources based on requests from collection managers at the Cantonal and University Library - Lausanne (BCUL).- Be responsible for the tools used by the Journals, E-books, and Databases section.- Participate in other tasks of the Journals, E-books, and Databases (REB) section team.For further information, please consult the job description by clicking here.Profile- HES-SO Bachelor's degree in Information Science, or equivalent diploma.- Alma knowledge desired.- Professional experience of at least 3 years in the field of library documentation.- Knowledge and/or marked interest in Library Management Systems (LMS) and knowledge of the Python language.- English, level B2.- Time management, spirit of mutual aid, global vision, sense of perspective, and ability to analyze and synthesize.Who are we?Serving cultural actors, the population, and the territory, the Directorate General of Culture (DGC), composed of nearly 450 employees, develops and implements the cantonal public policy in cultural matters.
