In collaboration with researchers, collaborators, and other members of the electronics service of the Swiss Plasma Center (SPC) at EPFL, you will participate in the development and maintenance of highly specialised scientific measurement devices intended for SPC physics experiments and the Faculty of Geoscience and Environment at the University of Lausanne (UNIL).
Note: Tasks will be performed for both SPC experiments and its Tokamak as well as for the Faculty of Geoscience and Environment at UNIL, particularly for the IMS 1280 ion probe.
- Development of electronic control and monitoring circuits
- Design of measurement electronics
- Development of AC/DC power supplies
- Creation of control interfaces for users
- Commissioning and monitoring of developments
- Assembly and testing of prototypes
- Maintenance of existing electronic systems
- Technical support and advice to experimenters
- You hold an engineering degree in electronics from a University of Applied Sciences, EPFL, or equivalent.
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in the maintenance and design of electronic systems (control, measurement, power supplies).
- You are proficient in VHDL and microcontroller programming.
- You have skills in analogue electronics.
- You are familiar with common laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, soldering stations, etc.).
- You communicate easily in French and English within a centre composed of students, technicians, engineers, and physicists.
- You are comfortable working in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
- You are passionate about developing systems for cutting-edge international research projects with external collaborations.
- You have an open, flexible, and creative personality that allows you to acquire new skills easily.
