Technical Buyer

We are looking, as part of an exclusive mandate, for our client, an industrial company established in Switzerland, active in complex and high value-added technical projects.

As part of strengthening its Purchasing function, we are seeking a Technical Buyer with solid experience in a demanding industrial environment.

You will operate within a strategic scope, in close connection with the technical, project and sales teams.

Your role

You will operate within a strategic scope covering several product families and technical services.
Your mission is to secure purchases under the best technical and commercial conditions, while supporting the company’s development projects.

At the interface between the technical teams, projects, sales and suppliers, you are a central player in the value chain. You analyse needs, anticipate risks and propose suitable solutions, with a view to sustainable partnerships with suppliers.

In this role, you are at the heart of exchanges between internal and external parties.
Your daily work consists of analyses, decisions and technical discussions, with a constant objective: to ensure reliable, controlled and value-creating purchases.

You start by understanding the needs. Those arising from net requirements calculations, those brought by project teams, or those expressed directly by the technical and sales teams. You challenge, clarify and translate them into coherent purchasing solutions, both technically and economically.

You are in regular contact with your suppliers. You communicate, negotiate, secure. You build lasting relationships, without losing sight of quality, deadlines and cost requirements. When necessary, you visit the supplier’s site to anticipate risks or resolve critical issues.

You intervene very early in projects. Alongside the Technical Office, you contribute to discussions, participate in defining specifications and identify partners capable of supporting new developments. Your market knowledge and understanding of supplier capabilities inform technical decisions.

You follow up orders, monitor services and handle discrepancies when they arise. Non-conformities, delays, technical adjustments: you tackle issues head-on and coordinate necessary actions until resolution.

Finally, you remain vigilant. You observe market developments, visit suppliers, attend specialised trade fairs and provide the organisation with new ideas, solutions and opportunities.

Your profile

This position is aimed at a professional with a solid technical foundation, complemented by proven experience in industrial purchasing.

You come from a technical background (CFC or equivalent), ideally enhanced by training in purchasing, project management or business engineering.
You have significant experience (approx. 10 years) in a similar role within a technical industrial environment.

You are comfortable reading plans, engaging in technical discussions with design offices and negotiating with demanding suppliers.
Organised, rigorous and proactive, you know how to manage your priorities and work closely with other departments.

Your stance is that of a seasoned negotiator, diplomatic, solution-oriented and committed to achieving the best overall performance.
