The Municipal Libraries Service (BMU) is attached to the Department of Culture and Digital Transition of the City of Geneva. With its network of libraries in the districts and its outreach offer, the BMU service is an essential support to the proximity policy carried out by the City of Geneva. Library Assistant at 70%
Your mission and responsibilities
- Collaborate in the lending and return service, check the condition of returned documents and shelve them.
- Inform the public and assist them in their research.
- Train users in the regular use of the library.
Your profile
- Hold a higher education diploma and/or have prior experience in a library or bookshop.
- Have a good general and literary culture.
- Show a strong interest in public service and demonstrate ease in interpersonal contacts.
- Master the French language; knowledge of a foreign language is an asset.
- Be willing to work every other Saturday and some Sundays.
