Description

With over 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our organisation, take a few minutes to view our 2025 retrospective by clicking here.

With nearly 1,500 staff members, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics (DRG) is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is spread across 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency services at the Trois-Chêne Hospital, age-specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.

Bellerive Hospital cares for patients with neurological conditions and those requiring palliative care. These patients are hospitalised for short, medium and long stays and are the focus of an interdisciplinary therapeutic project aimed at discharge to home or specialised facilities.

Neurology Nurses - 80% to 100%

As a nurse within a neurology unit at Bellerive Hospital, which includes a prolonged neurological care sector, you autonomously and/or under medical delegation provide comprehensive and personalised care for patients with complex neurological conditions, such as brain-injured patients.

You conduct enhanced monitoring of neurological symptoms to anticipate complications in patients with long-term altered consciousness. You provide specific care such as tracheotomy care, suprapubic catheter care, and long-term feeding tube (PEG) care.

You support patients' families and establish a care partnership by directing them to appropriate resources. Training in family support or conducting interviews in difficult contexts is an advantage.

You work within an interprofessional team and coordinate the care services provided to patients. You also undertake supervisory and teaching roles for trainees and new staff.

Finally, you contribute to the development of care quality and engage in professional reflection based on the analysis of nursing practices.

Qualifications

You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent nursing diploma recognised by the Swiss Red Cross. Additional certified training in neurology or experience in neurological rehabilitation is a real asset.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required.

You demonstrate great rigour as well as a keen sense of organisation and priority management. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and a strong interest in the follow-up of patients with neurological conditions.

You have an excellent ability to analyse clinical situations.

Thanks to your team spirit and communication skills, you work interprofessionally to unite all partners around a common vision to develop care projects aimed at optimal management of patients and their relatives. You appreciate collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Comfort with IT tools is necessary to successfully carry out this role, as well as a very good command of the French language.
