The position is attached to the Office of the Director and External Affairs. This office’s mission is to strengthen the influence and visibility of the HUG, to promote the HUG among health actors; to coordinate and enhance institutional partnerships at local, national and international levels; to reinforce the position of the HUG within international Geneva and Switzerland; to contribute to the HUG philanthropic programme; to support the deployment of humanitarian actions; to coordinate relations with churches and communities; and to lead the institutional sustainability approach.
The internship is carried out within the corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) unit, which is tasked with coordinating the implementation of the 2030 Sustainability Strategy for the entire institution, in close collaboration with all hospital departments and management.
You will join the CSR unit and assist the unit manager and the CSR team in developing and implementing the sustainability strategy and in carbon accounting of hospital activities. You will actively contribute to awareness projects and events led by the CSR unit.
You will participate in projects related to the implementation of the sustainability strategy.
You will collect and process data and contribute to the preparation of the 2026 Sustainability Report and the 2026 carbon footprint of the HUG.
You will collaborate with the Communications Department to create and develop various internal awareness content and materials.
You will contribute to the organisation and coordination of events on the theme of sustainability, advise on best practices, respond to questions to promote sustainability and sustainable mobility within the HUG.
In addition, you will participate in the daily organisation of the unit, for example, preparing and organising meetings, maintaining dashboards, etc.
Qualifications
You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the field of environment, sustainable development or health and must complete a mandatory internship with ECTS credits as part of your university curriculum.
Experience in engagement and awareness-raising on environmental or sustainability themes, during your studies, internship or through associative, voluntary or other activities would be an advantage.
You have good analytical skills, excellent writing and oral presentation abilities.
You are pragmatic, organised and also have good interpersonal and listening skills.
You know how to work in a team and have a collaborative spirit. You are autonomous and ensure smooth information flow.
You are comfortable with common office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and content creation tools (presentations, animations, etc.).
You have a good level of written English.
Additional Information
This internship is only open to individuals required to complete an internship as part of their academic curriculum (internship subject to ECTS credits) and requires the establishment of an internship agreement.
