The position is attached to the Prevention, Security and Safety Directorate (DPSS). The mission of the DPSS is to prevent harmful events and protect people and property, in order to ensure the continuity of care. Its tasks are to identify and analyse risks, to conceptualise and apply appropriate prevention and protection measures; to intervene in case of incidents and finally, to prepare crisis management and coordinate the continuity of care activities.
To meet these objectives, the DPSS is structured into three specific sectors: the engineering sector, the fire and CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive) sector, and the operations sector.
As the group leader of the Fire & CBRNE sector, you coordinate and manage the operational activities of the sector, which includes permanent and volunteer company firefighters.
You ensure the leadership, supervision and evaluation of the employees under your responsibility and guarantee the operational efficiency of the sector within a demanding and sensitive hospital environment.
In close collaboration with the sector head, you actively contribute to the development and improvement of operational and administrative procedures as well as to maintaining a high level of team preparedness.
You directly participate in operational interventions and, depending on the situation, coordinate the internal and external resources deployed, notably with the SIS.
You are also involved in the four key dimensions of the sector, namely:
Prevention: supervision of the fire safety system, inspection of safety installations and equipment, monitoring of construction sites and management of hot work permits, conducting rounds and identifying risks.
Forecasting: development and updating of operational protocols, mapping of risk zones, coordination with internal and external partners, preparation and training of intervention devices.
Intervention: operational management during fire alarms or CBRNE incidents, coordination of emergency measures, participation in specific rescue missions, maintaining hospital operational continuity.
Training: participation in basic and ongoing team training, support for new employees, raising awareness among institutional staff involved in fire prevention.
You also act as deputy to the sector head during their absences and, in this capacity, are required to make all necessary decisions to protect people and infrastructure.
Through your leadership, you promote a culture of rigour, commitment, team spirit and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
You hold a federal professional firefighter certificate or a technical qualification (CFC or equivalent/higher title), and are engaged as a volunteer firefighter with officer rank.
You have proven experience within a professional or volunteer corps and possess solid experience in leading and managing operational teams.
You have very good knowledge of:
fire and CBRNE intervention techniques;
fire safety systems;
emergency operational procedures;
common IT tools (Word, Excel, Windows environment).
You are qualified to wear a breathing apparatus and hold a category B driving licence.
Recognised for your composure, analytical skills and leadership, you are capable of making quick decisions in urgent contexts with significant human and organisational stakes.
Your sense of service, ability to unite teams and interpersonal skills enable you to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders in a complex hospital environment.
