Student Relations Assistant (80%-100%)


Mission

For the student community as well as for the student associations of EPFL, the Delegate for Student Relations (DP-RE) ensures dialogue with the student community and represents the interests of the students. They supervise the Office of Associative Affairs, whose mission is to support and assist associations, maintain communication with them, provide them with useful information, and ensure their proper functioning.


The position to be filled aims to support the DP-RE in carrying out their strategic and academic missions related to the student community and associations recognised by EPFL, as well as in developing a learning and student life environment conducive to academic success, well-being, and student engagement.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Support in the activities of the DP-RE
  • Participation in defining the student affairs strategy and its implementation
  • Operational and financial management of the DP-RE unit and service
  • Responsible for the proper definition, monitoring, and implementation of projects carried out within the DP-RE unit
  • Operational coordination with the Vice-Presidencies and units within the EPFL management responsible for the education and training of Bachelor, Master, and PhD students
  • Operational coordination with the Vice-Presidency for Human Development
  • Represents the DP-RE within the Vice-Presidency for Human Development (VPH)
  • HR management of the administrative team of the DP-RE unit
  • Operational management of the student associative affairs office
  • Operational support to the office for extracurricular learning activities
  • Support for the management and development of the "student centre" project
Profile
  • BSc, MSc or PhD in one of the educational fields present at EPFL;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Swiss academic environment and its challenges;
  • Proven experience in project management and coordination;
  • Strong interest in issues related to student life, teaching, and institutional relations;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills;
  • Independence in task execution;
  • Fluency in French and English, German is desirable.
