Attached to the Directorate of Security, Justice and Sport, the Fribourg Cantonal Police has the general mission of ensuring public security, maintaining order and enforcing laws. It serves the population and the authorities. This is reflected 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by the fulfilment of a large number of varied and demanding tasks: emergency interventions, offence reports, crime prevention, investigations, etc. The increasingly important role of the police in managing social problems requires tact and know-how from officers.
It is also responsible for road traffic safety. It provides security support to organisers of public events and assists cantonal and municipal authorities during serious incidents.
The Fribourg Cantonal Police is composed of two main bodies, the gendarmerie and the security police, and three divisions: command, logistics and IT, human resources and training.
We rely on the complementarity of skills and the variety of perspectives because it is the diversity of backgrounds and profiles that makes the strength of the State of Fribourg. We promote work-life balance and flexible working conditions. For more information, follow this link.
