What you can contribute

  • Lead and develop the Circular Economy and Emissions Management division, structured into four departments: Economy and Innovation, Waste and Raw Materials, Air and Chemicals Protection, Noise and Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR), comprising approximately 150 employees in total
  • As a member of the management team, ensure joint responsibility for the strategic leadership of the office and represent it in national and international bodies
  • Represent the affairs under your responsibility within the management and department, before Parliament and with stakeholders, cantons, economic organisations and NGOs, as well as internationally
  • Drive and advance strategically important dossiers, particularly those related to the circular economy and chemical substances (PFAS), and ensure the implementation of strategies, objectives and regulations defined at a higher level
  • Establish and maintain useful contacts and relationships, defend the office’s position in discussions related to economic and financial policy as well as research and innovation policy

What makes you unique

  • Advanced degree in economic and social sciences, natural sciences or law, along with several years of proven professional and leadership experience
  • Leadership personality with assertiveness, negotiation skills and foresight, interest in interdisciplinary issues
  • Proven analytical and conceptual skills, very good knowledge of project management as well as process and change management
  • High stress tolerance, ease in decision-making and implementation, planning and organisational talent
  • Good active knowledge of two official languages, passive knowledge of a third, very good knowledge of English

In a few words

You ensure the management of the strategic and political affairs of the entire office in collaboration with the management. Working closely with the executives reporting to you, you are responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic thematic areas of circular economy and the reduction of burdens and risks related to chemical substances.
