Deputy to the Director of DAGRI, Head of Rural EconomyJob DescriptionWithin the Directorate General for Agriculture, Viticulture and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV), you will assist the director of the Directorate of Agriculture, Viticulture and Land Affairs (DAGRI) in steering the Vaud agricultural policy and executing federal agricultural policy. As the right hand of the directorate, you will orchestrate the management of its projects and ensure their coherence. You will also steer the rural economy sector, by leading a team and developing strategies that shape the future of agriculture and the food system in the canton. This key position, at the crossroads of political decision-making and the field, places you at the heart of major sustainability issues and the Vaud agricultural world.Responsibilities- Assist the DAGRI director in the steering, implementation, and monitoring of cantonal and federal agricultural policy in the canton of Vaud.- Propose framework conditions to support the agricultural and food sector towards greater robustness and autonomy in a fluctuating environment.- Ensure the transversal coordination of the directorate's activities and the monitoring of institutional projects, ensuring the coherence of priorities and compliance with deadlines.- Define objectives, priorities, and resources to guarantee the quality of deliverables while leading and developing your team of project managers (approx. 5 people).- Deputize for the director and represent them before federal, intercantonal, and professional bodies, as well as before agricultural and viticultural organizations.You will find more information in the job description by clicking here.We invite you to submit your complete application file (CV, cover letter, diplomas, work certificates) via the employment portal.Profile- Master's degree in agronomy from a federal polytechnic school or in public policy, or a title deemed equivalent.- Complementary training in project management and team leadership.- Confirmed experience of at least five years in a management position in the agricultural, agri-food, or public sector.- Proficiency in German; English is an asset.- Knowledge of the food system, systemic vision, and a marked sense of organization and respect for deadlines.- Proven managerial skills: leadership, decision-making spirit, analytical and synthesis capacity, and stress management.- Writing skills and a sense of public service and a taste for teamwork.Who are we?The Directorate General for Agriculture, Viticulture and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) is one of the entities of the Department of Agriculture, Sustainability and Youth and Digital Affairs (DADN).
