Deputy Director General of TaxationJob DescriptionThrough the implementation of tax policy, the Directorate General of Taxation (DGF) guarantees the resources necessary for the operation of the state, the financing of public infrastructure and services, as well as the quality of life for all. As Deputy Director General, you combine undeniable technical legitimacy with a global vision and steer major tax reforms at the heart of current events and citizens' concerns, such as individual taxation, the value of real estate, the minimum taxation of corporate groups, agricultural taxation, etc.Responsibilities- Steer cantonal tax projects and reforms in collaboration with the Director General.- Advise the General Management on tax, financial, institutional, and political issues related to ongoing reforms.- Contribute to the definition of the vision and strategy of the DGF, and ensure the substitution of the Director General.- Supervise the legal affairs of the DGF, lead legislative work in tax matters, and ensure the drafting and monitoring of bills and regulations.- Guarantee the coherence and legal security of the Vaud tax system and support DGF units in handling complex, new, or sensitive tax issues.- Coordinate responses to parliamentary interventions, ensure the follow-up of relations with the Grand Council, and participate in the preparation of files intended for the Council of State.- Represent the DGF before cantonal and federal tax authorities, participate in the work of the Swiss Tax Conference (CSI), and develop a professional network in reference circles.- Accompany the transformation and modernization of tax administration, by promoting a process-oriented logic, the digitalization of services, and continuous improvement of working methods.For more information, please consult the job description by clicking here.Requirements- University degree in law, federal diploma of tax expert, or expert diploma from the Swiss Tax Conference (CSI).- Master's degree in taxation or tax law, with a complementary degree in management or an equivalent background.- Proven professional experience in the field of Swiss taxation, including leading or supporting tax policy projects and reforms within a Swiss tax administration or an institutional environment in close connection with tax authorities.- Excellent command of Swiss tax law and its developments, global vision, and excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills, strong decision-making capacity, sense of responsibility, and public service ethics.- Excellent communication and leadership skills and a marked sense for negotiation.- Mastery of French as well as very good knowledge of German and English.Miscellaneous- The recruitment process includes a background check.WHO ARE WE?With nearly a thousand employees, the Directorate General of Taxation (DGF) brings together the Cantonal Tax Administration and the Land Registry.
