We will work together Delegated Project Manager - Deep Drilling and Geothermal Reservoir We will work together The geothermal unit aims to propose local renewable thermal solutions of low, medium, and deep depth to meet heating or cooling needs, as well as energy storage solutions. As a rapidly developing sector, the missions of the geothermal unit not only aim to map the underground but also, alongside the Canton, to establish a favorable framework for its development and to develop geothermal industries in the local and regional market. Thus, the cantonal energy master plan foresees the valorization of 150 GWh/year of medium-depth geothermal energy by [year], which implies the study and [execution] of a significant number of medium-depth drilling projects. By [year], geothermal drilling must accelerate considerably to effectively meet the ambitious goals set by energy for a sustainable Geneva. You will lead the [coordination] and technical monitoring of the deep drilling necessary for geothermal energy in Geneva. Within the Geothermal unit, you will strengthen technical mastery and contribute to drilling and reservoir challenges at the heart of projects. In a context of rapid scaling up, your transversal role will support consistency, quality, and success. More precisely, your missions will include: - Leading the design of wells and technical choices related to deep drilling (design, well architecture, equipment, risk management); - Planning and orchestrating all drilling operations: programs, procedures, sequencing, timelines, interfaces; - Coordinating and supervising specialized [teams] (drilling contractors, well services, logging, cementing, testing); - Ensuring follow-up: performance monitoring, HSE compliance, risk management, program adherence; - Integrating reservoir challenges carefully to guide decision-making. Your personality and skills You have solid experience in deep drilling: well design, programming, supervision, or field management. You are comfortable in demanding technical environments where responsiveness and risk management are essential. Your technical judgment allows you to choose between options, adapt plans in the face of the unexpected, and maintain security-cost-quality objectives. Additionally, specialized knowledge and experience in reservoir engineering could enhance your ability to communicate clearly and your leadership fosters a close collaboration with both internal teams and external partners. Autonomous, rigorous, and oriented, you enjoy advancing projects and ensuring their success through the commitment of mastery of French and technical English are required. Your academic background: - Engineering degree or master’s in drilling, petroleum engineering, geo-resources, applied geosciences, or equivalent; - 8-10 years minimum experience in deep drilling (geothermal, oil, storage, CCS), including the design and [management]; - Good knowledge of reservoir principles necessary for decision-making (well testing, productivity/injectivity); - Knowledge of technical well tools (design or monitoring software), without being an expert in reservoirs.
