Detention OfficerJob DescriptionAs a detention officer in one of our 6 establishments in the canton, you will work in a demanding but meaningful and action-oriented environment with a strong team spirit. Your work contributes to the implementation of the two missions assigned to the penitentiary service: ensuring the supervision and monitoring of detainees and promoting their reintegration, while acting in all circumstances in compliance with our values: Loyalty, Solidarity, Credibility.Through your commitment, you contribute to the protection of the public. You will develop your skills, notably through training provided on the job in order to obtain the federal certificate for detention officers.Responsibilities- Supervision, day and night, of detainees- Accompanying detainees in their daily activities- Listening, supporting, and providing information to detainees- Ensuring the security of the premises and people- Enforcing discipline, regulations, and hygiene standards while ensuring respect for human dignityFor further information, please consult the job description by clicking here or contact our recruitment sector.Requirements- Minimum 24 years of age- Hold a 3-year vocational training certificate (CFC) or equivalent- Federal certificate for detention officers or commitment to obtain it by following the training provided on the job- Proficiency in standard computer tools- Proficiency in the French language, both oral and written. Knowledge of foreign languages is an asset- Ease in human contact, sense of responsibility, and diplomacy- Mental and physical aptitude allowing you to adapt to irregular hours and to manage sometimes difficult situations or conflicts while maintaining a distance appropriate to your role- Ability to manage stress. Analytical and synthesis skills- Employment conditions require that you be Swiss or a holder of a C permit, free of debt collection certificates, and your criminal record must be clean.
